Welcome to the Department of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. As the “Eye of the Health Profession,” MLS plays a central role in patient care through accurate diagnosis, disease monitoring, and research.

At the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), you will receive hands-on training across the MLS core disciplines as well as in the emerging fields like molecular diagnostics and digital health. Guided by dedicated faculty, you will build competence, ethics, research and teamwork skills that define a true Medical Laboratory professional.
